Getting your songs on radio is a snap right? Guess again! Many Independent artists underestimate how tough it really is to get their songs heard on the radio outside Garage Band formatting. The truth is Radio Stations are saturated with CD's sent to them by Independent Artists hoping they can get some kind of free hook-up. Well here's what typically happens: your CD will end up in a bin or box, & after a month the bin will find it's way out to a dumpster. The truth is no one at the station is going to take the time to sort through the hundreds of CD's to find yours, & subsequently your best material. I have seen this time & time again. Even if you know someone "on the inside" most program managers keep a tight leash on their formats & generally frown on this practice. I've even seen DJ's get in hot water legally over it. Some Radio stations don't even accept free material, so how do you as an artist get over this hurdle? Katavi Arts has proven distribution network of over 2,300 Radio Stations that work your favor in getting your best songs on radio stations nationwide. Here's how it works.
How it works?
- We determine which genre (or genre-package) your band belongs in & distributed under.
- We determine the number of stations Nation Wide that plays your particular genera. Total CD's.
- We sell the time on each CD at a rate of (18-cents-per-minute). Your three-minute song on on 400 CD’s (shipping TO 400 Radio Stations)
(3 X .18 X 400 = $216).
- If there are 10 bands that want to put their best 2 songs on this 74 minute Compilation CD that adds up to ($2,160) or just ($216 per band.) Not a bad price for the business venture.
Why it works (KATAVI Compilation CD's)
Your bands best songs combined with other bands best songs within your genera delivers a "best of" compilation CD that represents the buzz within any given region. We already know A&R's listen to college radio stations all the time to pick up on new trends, so the chances of your bands best song getting heard by an A&R is extremely likely. This CD is sent out nationwide to all the radio stations within your genera on our 2,300 station registry. Program Managers look for these "best of" compilations all the time. This is because they know this material represents the best material each band has to offer vice just a CD from an unknown band. Typically a "Best of Seattle Electronica CD" will get generally get airplay in it's entirety a few times a month for the first few months after it's received.

Musical Genera's
Internet Radio Distribution
There are literally millions of Internet Radio and PODCAST feeds available around the country. With no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Most of the people that go to these sites are after free music nothing more. It’s easy to get overly consumed sending your music to every internet radio, PODCAST feed available in the US. Most artists should not lose sight of what goes on at these sites. Most kids go to these sites to “cherry-pick” the music industry to death. True -some A&R Representatives occasionally surf the Internet in search of popular music, and one of the places they go to is local MP3 and IPOD links like the ones offered in Seattle. But its important to note that the focus in perusing an Internet Radio Distribution should be to build and further emphasize your regional buzz.
